
Twenty-one Advanced Placement U.S. Government and History students spent the first week of March in Washington, D.C., participating in the national Close Up program. The students met with Minnesota Senators Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar and Rep. Betty McCollum.They also participated in study visits to every major memorial and monument in Washington, attended seminars with congressional aides and media members, saw a play at the Kennedy Center, and explored neighborhoods such as Georgetown and DuPont Circle.
