Friends of the Parks and Trails of Ramsey County and St. Paul’s annual tree sale is under way. Purchase a tree for your own yard or give one to a local park. Choices include trees, shrubs, a lovely rose and a grapevine. Ramsey County and more than 20 cities in the metropolitan area accept donations through the Friends’ tree sale. With the growing loss of trees due to pests such as emerald ash borer, planting trees in parks has become increasingly important.
Orders must be received by April 22 and picked up on May 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. You choose the location where you’d like to pick up your order, either the Highland Park Pavilion, 1200 Montreal Ave., St. Paul, or the Ramsey County Parks building at 2015 N. Van Dyke, Maplewood. All donations to parks will be taken care of by park staff.
Go to www.FriendsoftheParks.org for more information and to place an online order. Printed sale brochures are available at city and county libraries and can be requested by sending a note to Friends of the Parks, 1660 Laurel Ave., St. Paul, MN 55104. All donations are fully tax-deductible.
