The work of potters Richard Gruchalla and Carrin Rosetti and painter Riki Kölbl Nelson will be display, the Raymond Avenue Gallery through Friday, Oct. 20. Gallery hours are Mondaysday to Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and special Saturday hours Sept. 16 and Oct. 14, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Gruchalla and Rosetti are a husband-and-wife team. Rosetti’s background is as a tapestry weaver, while Gruchalla is a studio potter working exclusively in raku.
As a trained potter, Gruchalla throws and builds the pots; Rosetti focuses on glazing. After the firing, copper wire is added to each piece as a final decorative element.
Nelson spent her childhood and early adulthood in Grossgmain, near Salzburg, Austria. She has been working as an artist for decades, taking and giving workshops and classes, and exhibiting in personal and group shows here and abroad.
