Carol Jean Osip, 73, died peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on July 9. She died of pancreatic cancer.

Carol is survived by her sisters, Chris (Andy) Pasternak, Cathy (Denny Carlson), Cyndi (Mike Turner), Joni and Jeanie. She is also survived by her second family of friends, including Elaine, Louise, Joy and many others who enjoyed her love of travel, sports, movies, casinos, bowling and community service.

Carol was born and raised in Allen Park, Mich. She was a nun in the Order of the Sister Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Michigan for 10 years. After receiving a degree at the University of Illinois, she worked as a school psychologist for St. Paul Public Schools.

She loved her work and colleagues. She was a proud supporter of the DFL and was in the League of Women Voters for many years. She was dedicated to service and worked as a volunteer at the airport, Minnesota History Center, driving seniors and visiting shelters with her dog, Lily.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held July 18 at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in St Anthony Park.
