The St. Anthony Police Department will host an eight-week Citizens Police Academy on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 10 p.m., Sept. 5 to Nov. 7. The free program is designed to educate community members about the inner workings of a police department and will cover patrol and criminal procedures, use of force, defensive tactics, introduction to firearms, and more.
Participants must be 21 or older, work or reside in the cities of St. Anthony, Falcon Heights or Lauderdale, submit to a background check and sign a waiver.
