Como: Take an audio tour of regional park history

Under the leadership of Sharon Shinomiya, volunteers from the District 10 Como Community Council have created a free audio tour and printable guide describing the history of Como Regional Park. The tour features anecdotes about well-known park landmarks, such as the Lakeside Pavilion and conservatory, as well as lesser-known treasures. Download the guide and access the audio tour at district10comopark.org

Could you pass this message on to Sharon Shinomiya. I’m a Como Park resident and a postcard and map collector. I have two old maps of Como Park one in 1884 (showing the old hotel and ice house) and the other a1916 real estate map that may be of interest to you. Also I have a strange real photo postcard of the “Gates of Jar”. Yes that is what it says. I have most all postcards of Como Park but this one is rare. There are only three steps, and the fence is just a steel rod and wire. Either it is very old or perhaps a temporary site after one of the moves. Interesting note on the backside.
