Kristi Pupak, a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources educator, will talk about Crex Meadows Wildlife Area history and management at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Fairview Community Center, 1910 W. County Road B, Roseville.
The free program is part of the St. Paul Audubon Society monthly meeting.
Crex Meadows is a 30,000-acre wildlife area containing wetlands, forests and brush prairies located just north of Grantsburg, Wis. It’s part of the Northwest Wisconsin Pine Barrens. Established in 1947, Crex Meadows Wildlife Area is managed to provide opportunities for public hunting, trapping and other outdoor recreation while protecting the qualities of unique native communities and associated species.
