Falcon Heights Fire Department Open House and Chili Cook-Off set for Oct. 1
Calling all chili cooks and enthusiasts. The Falcon Heights Fire Department will host its annual Open House and Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, Oct. 1, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the firehouse, 2077 W. Larpenteur Ave.
Entry is free. You just need to go to the City of Falcon Heights website, www.falconheights.org, and click on the Open House/Chili Cook-Off tab in the right-hand column and fill out the entry form. It does cost to be a judge (or attendee). Cost is $5 for those 12 and older and $3 for those under 12.
All judges can eat as much chili as they want and then vote on their favorite chili. The winning cook will receive the prestigious traveling trophy that is given to the winner each year at the cook-off.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Firefighter Relief Association.
Along with the cook-off, the fire department will’s open house will include a stove fire demonstration, fire truck tours, kids’ activities, a bounce house, fire safety tips and more.
