Finnish Bistro Café & Coffee reopening

The Finnish Bistro, a popular eatery in St. Anthony

Park, is reopening today <Friday> after a temporary closure due to a recent fire.

The café is resuming with regular hours of 6:30am – 8:30 pm, ready to again serve its signature Finnish-inspired cuisine and restart its full line of music programs and social activities.

“We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support and well-wishes we have received from the community following the fire,” said Bistro owner Sandra Weise. “Their support has been a source of strength as we worked tirelessly to reopen our doors. Our team has poured their hearts into restoring the cafe, and we’re excited to take our place back in the community.”

The fire, which occurred on Friday, April 19, damaged the café’s kitchen. But quick action from the local fire department and the

Bistro’s staff contained the damage and no injuries were reported.

Fundraiser scheduled

The café will host a fundraiser from 2 to 4 p.m., May 4 to support staff and independent musicians affected by the recent fire.

While insured, Weise said she wants to reimburse staff and musicians for lost income and from canceled bookings.
