Gerhart J. Buehrer, 89, died Aug. 13.
After his World War II Navy service, Gerhart earned a degree in architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. He worked most of his career in Minneapolis, retiring from Setter, Leach & Lindstrom Architects in 1990.
He and Doris met and were married in 1950. After many moves, the family settled in the St. Anthony Park neighborhood in the mid-1960s.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Doris; his children: Joan, Bob (Joan Zerkovich), Gary Jr. (Debbie), Becky (John) Andrews and Barth (Michelle); four grandchildren; and his sister, Elizabeth Hiegel.
A gathering of family and friends was held Sept. 15, with interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
