Gertrude Ellen Cody, 93, died Nov. 26, 2021.
Growing up as a proud East Sider, Gert attended St. Paul Johnson High School. She spent most of her life in Falcon Heights, Roseville and Shoreview, raising her children and volunteering for numerous charities. She was an avid knitter, producing prize-winning afghans and items to donate to those in need.
A devout Catholic, Gert was especially proud of her Irish heritage. She was preceded in death by her parents Roger and Clara, and her husband Patrick Emmett Cody. She is survived by her four children Tom (Judy), Pat (Vickie), Mike (Janelle) and Maureen; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
