As a resident of Falcon Heights and an enthusiast for Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, I would like to invite the community to attend Bouquets, a fabulous event on Thursday, Feb. 23, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Bouquets is a food, wine and beer fundraising celebration to help Como Park Zoo and Conservatory thrive.
I have been attending the event for many years and am on the planning committee. Bouquets is a highlight of the year for me, and the balmy Marjorie McNeely Conservatory is a wonderful respite from the cold Minnesota weather. This annual event is the perfect destination for a midwinter date night, with live music and hops in the Beer Garden, more than 100 specialty pours from wine stations arrayed throughout the Visitor Center and Conservatory, and delectable samplings from top Twin Cities restaurants, caterers and gourmands. There is also an amazing silent auction—and you get to see the gorgeous Sunken Garden Winter Flower Show, which is especially beautiful in the evening.
Bouquets, presented by Berger Transfer, is produced by Como Friends, the nonprofit partner to Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. Funds raised at Bouquets help keep Como free of charge for its 2 million visitors, improves space for the animals and expands the gardens, and adds high-touch education opportunities for visiting school children and families.
Tickets are $65 and can be purchased at www.comofriends.org or in Garden Safari Gifts at Como.
I hope you will join me for great taste in a gorgeous setting for a good cause.
