Lloyd’s Pharmacy owner purchases Schneider Drug

Jim Stage wants Prospect Park and surrounding communities to know that Schneider Drug Store at the corner of Bedford Street and University Avenue is open for business.

The store’s sale closed on Tuesday, Jan. 27. Stage bought the store from longtime owner Tom Sengupta, who retired after 43 years of owning the business. Sengupta was to undergo cancer surgery this week.

A pharmacist since 2006, Stage also owns Lloyd’s Pharmacy on Snelling Avenue in St. Paul, which he purchased in October 2014.

Stage lives in St. Paul with his wife and five children, ages 2 to 9. He says the store may undergo some cosmetic changes, but “its focus will be an independent pharmacy.”

Thanks,Kristal, for the clarification and for your wonderful story in the Bugle – it really sounded like Tom’s natural good advice (I had heard about mayo but not the addition of tea tree oil). I imagine so many of us have those special stories when he went over and above what most would do, but for him it was just the normal attention he gave to everyone – it would be fun to know more of those unique experiences.
