Designer, artist and author Patrick Redmond, M.A., has retired from teaching. Redmond, 62, taught graphic design courses during the 1980s and 1990s at the University of Minnesota, St. Paul campus. More recently, he taught at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie and offered an independent master class in St. Paul.
Redmond’s business, Patrick Redmond Design, had been located in the Security Building at Raymond and University avenues in the late 1980s to the mid-1990s. He earned a master of arts degree at the University of Minnesota. Recent honors include a Silver Key teaching award from the Minnesota Scholastic Art Awards, an American Graphic Design Award from New York-based Graphic Design: USA magazine and an award in the Advertising Federation of Minnesota’s competition, “The Show.” In addition to working in his ongoing business, which traces its beginning to 1966, he is devoting more time to his own creative work, including fine art, graphic art and writing.
