Malcolm Duncan Evans, 87, of Como Park, died Jan. 10. He was born in Groton, Mass., to Herbert and Mary Evans. Evans was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. He earned his doctorate in education from Harvard University. His career was in public school administration. After retirement, he was the executive secretary of the Association for Process Philosophy of Education; a visiting scholar at the School of Theology at Claremont, Calif., and author of the book Whitehead and Philosophy of Education. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Grace; daughters, Tara and Hannah; and son-in-law, Jose. A memorial service was held Jan. 20 at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.
