Mary C. Duddleston, 91, Arden Hills, formerly of Falcon Heights, died Jan. 20, 2021. Her goal was to live long enough to see a Democrat back in the White House—and she did!
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Bill (Woody). She is survived by her sons, Paul (Pam), Peter (Cindy) and Doug; daughter Kate (Ralph) Rinehart; and eight grandchildren.
Mary, born in Reedsburg, Wis., graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and as a result became a lifelong fan of Badger football and basketball. After moving to Minnesota, she cheered for the Gophers, unless they were playing the Badgers! She also remained a loyal Green Bay Packer fan.
Mary was passionate, feisty, stubborn and incredibly intelligent. She was an avid reader and an amazing gourmet cook who loved to entertain family, friends and Bill’s business associates from around the globe. They were fortunate to travel to Australia, New Zealand (where she discovered Brancott Sauvignon Blanc and opals) and many countries in Europe.
Mary was active in the community; her most cherished moments came from the League of Women Voters, St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, “The Bridge Club” (you know who you are), and volunteering at Loaves & Fishes.
The family would like to thank the incredible folks at Our Lady of Peace Hospice who made Mary’s passing so peaceful.
Memorials are preferred to the Roseville Area League of Women’s Voters or Loaves & Fishes of Minnesota.
