Murray Middle School is looking for tutors to provide support to seventh and eighth-grade students in English, math, science or social studies.
Tutoring is is needed during the following hours: 11:25 a.m.-12:14 p.m., 12:18-1:07 p.m. and 1:11-2 p.m.
Tutors choose the day(s) and time(s) that work best with their schedule. All volunteers are asked to participate in a 90-minute training and orientation session prior to tutoring. Students work with a tutor/mentor individually each day. Students work on developing the tools they need to improve their study skills. Studies show that developing a caring relationship is critical to academic success in school. Volunteers get to know the student because they see each other every week.
