Patricia Ann Johnson (Kratz) Nygaard, 88, of Hugo, died Oct. 25, 2023.

Patricia was born May 11, 1935, in St. Paul and graduated from Murray High School in 1953. Patricia married Clayton Johnson in 1954. They had four children and enjoyed 44 years of marriage until his death in 1998.

Patricia later married James Nygaard in 2003 and welcomed six more children: Karen Hollingsworth (Stephen), Gary (Sue), Jerold (Jojie), Susie Schlosser (Pete), Darrell (Lisa), Dan (Vicki), and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the family.

She was an energetic member and volunteer at Trinity Lutheran of Lake Johanna (Arden Hills) and Southshore Trinity Lutheran Church (White Bear Lake).

Pat began her community service in the city of Roseville, where her tireless efforts helped to save Langton Lake Park, one of her proudest accomplishments.

She also served for several years on the Roseville City Planning Commission and the Roseville City Council, helping the community she loved to grow and thrive. Finally, Pat served as president of the Roseville Central Park Foundation.

Patricia is survived by her children, Michael Johnson (Kathleen), Deborah Hawthorne (Michael), Thomas Johnson (Shannon) and Kristine Salmi (Derek), as well as 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Ryan Johnson (grandson), Clayton Johnson (husband), Lucy Kratz (mother) and James Nygaard (husband).

Memorial service and interment have been held. Memorials suggested to Roseville Central Park Foundation, 2660 Civic Center Drive, Roseville, MN 55113.
