Roger W. Toogood, 87, of Roseville, died March 31, 2021. He was the director of Children’s Services for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese for seven years and executive director of the Children’s Home Society of Minnesota for 27 years.

Roger dedicated his life to serving children and families in Minnesota, the U.S. and internationally, earning the Order of Civil Merit Moran Medal from the Republic of Korea and many other awards.

Roger was an active, longtime Roseville citizen and St. Odilia Catholic Church volunteer. His high school sweetheart and beloved wife Marlys, his parents Wayne and Grace Toogood and brothers Jack and George preceded him in death. He is survived by son Mark; daughters Pamela (Eric) Hulstrand, Ann (Joseph) Garrett and Julie (Eric) Rethemeier; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Williams, Robert Toogood and Sharon (Marsha Woolcott) Froehle; and brother-in-law, David (Geri) Marquardt.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated April 14 at St. Odilia, with interment in St. Odilia Prayer Garden. Memorials preferred to St. Odilia Endowment Fund, the Roger Toogood Endowment Fund for Children at the Children’s Home Society of Minnesota or the St. Odilia Prayer Garden.
