Students from Murray Middle School’s eighth-grade E2 class spent a May morning helping park volunteer Mary Maguire-Lerman plant balsam fir seedlings in College Park. The seedlings, which were donated by Dave Hansen of Hansen Tree Farm, will replace the trees that came down during a summer storm several years ago. Teacher Tim Chase said students from the school’s Magnet Science classes will also be working in the park before the school year ends.
