St. Paul Hiking Club offers hikes each week

The St. Paul Hiking Club offers Sunday and Tuesday hikes in various parts of the St. Paul area. Sunday hikes start at 2:30 p.m., are about 5 miles and last 90 minutes to two hours. Tuesday hikes start at 7:30 p.m., are about 3 miles and last an hour.

October hikes near the Bugle area are listed below:

Sunday, Oct. 9: Facilitator is Fran Rongstad, 651-770-1231. Meet in the parking lot of the Myth Nightclub, 3090 Southlawn Drive, at County Road D, Maplewood (across from Best Buy). The club will hike the Lake Links Trail West to the Bruce Vento Trail, to Harvest Park and Hazelwood Park and the Heritage Square housing area with a rest stop at the Maplewood Fire Station. Treats: TGI Friday’s 3087 White Bear Ave., Maplewood.

Tuesday, Oct. 11: Facilitator is Marilyn Steinwall, 651-633-9627. Meet in the parking lot of Central Park in Roseville on Lexington Ave. Go north on Hamline Avenue from Larpenteur Avenue, turn right onto County Road B2 and then turn left onto Lexington (the park is on the right). Participants will hike the paved trails. Bring a flashlight.
