I hope our neighbors in legislative House District 66-A appreciate our good fortune to have Alice Hausman representing us at the Capitol. Alice goes to work with integrity, independence, expertise and perseverance, but without gnawing ambition or inflated ego. She’s the model of a skillful, steady, industrious public servant.
To Hausman goes the credit for the new Bell Museum in Falcon Heights, among many other accomplishments.
Alice Hausman was named the 2019 Community Hero by MICAH (Metropolitan Interfaith Council on Affordable Housing). In the past five years she’s received the Minnesota Housing Partnership Legislative Leader, National Housing Advocacy Award and Homes for All Housing Champion (twice).
Her effectiveness and her values are reflected in these other recent recognitions: NAMI Legislator of the Year; League of Conservation Voters Environmental Leadership, Sierra Club Legislative Leadership, Arts All Star from Minnesota Citizens for the Arts; Wildlife Management Coalition Award; Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy Award; Parks & Trails Council Legislator of Distinction; St. Paul College Community Partner of the Year and other honors.
Representative Hausman clearly deserves endorsement for re-election. I am proud that she has been speaking for us and I encourage others to join me in supporting Alice at the upcoming DFL precinct caucuses on Feb. 25.
