The sun again will shine bright and clear (we hope)

As 2017 comes to a close and the winter solstice passes, here’s to a happy new year and leaving the dark days behind. We give you this poem by 12th-century Persian poet Hafiz.

The Sun Never Says

by Hafiz

the sun never says to the earth,

“You owe me.”

Look what happens with

a love like that,

it lights the whole sky.
