WARM Mentor Program show opens Oct. 8

A group of over 30 women artists of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, at various stages of their lives and artistic development, will display the fruit of two years of work under the auspices of the WARM Mentor Program in the show Launching and Landing at Grain Belt Bottling House, 79 13th Ave. N.E., Minneapolis. An opening reception will be held there on Saturday, Oct. 8, 5:30-8:30 p.m.

The Launching and Landing opening reception will feature a fundraiser of small artwork created by the mentors and protégées. The show will run through Saturday, Oct. 29.

The WARM Mentor program pairs emerging with professional women artists. WARM—Women’s Art Resources of Minnesota—has been an ongoing supportive resource for women artists since the early 1970s. The artists featured in the show include both protégées and their mentors.

Featured protégées include Alexandra Norwick, Anne Kramer, Ann Ribbens, Annie Hejny, Carolina Borja, Catherine Rose, Debra George, Debra Ripp, Denise Minkler Marych, Dianne Merten, Gena LaMothe, Holly Tappen, Karin Jacobs, Kate Vinson, Catherine A. Palmer, Laura Burlis, Linda Snouffer, Lisa Fratzke, Lisa Pemrick, Shell Losee and Sherry Sivo.

Mentors are Brenda Litman, Claudia Poser, Carolyn Halliday, Deborah Foutch, Ellie Kingsbury, Jantje Visscher, Kat Corrigan, Layl McDill, Marcia Soderman, Michele Combs and Rochelle Woldorsky.
