Houston-based quintet WindSync will perform in several St. Anthony Park venues the last week in February.
The group will open the 2014 Schubert Club Music in the Park Family Concerts with “Peter and the Wolf” on Friday, Feb. 21, at 5:45 and 7 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 2136 Carter Ave. They will then perform as part of the Music in the Park Series on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 4 p.m. at St. Anthony Park United Church of Christ.
The quintet will also perform at St. Anthony Park Elementary School and at St. Anthony Park Home later in the week. Hailed by the Houston Chronicle as “revolutionary chamber musicians,” WindSync—a winner of the 2012 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh International Competition—is a fresh and energetic wind quintet thrilling audiences nationwide with its unique approach to classical music. The five virtuoso players specialize in creative, engaging and interactive concerts that inspire audiences of all ages.
