Winter clothing needed

Jehovah Lutheran Church, 1566 W. Thomas Ave., is gathering winter clothing and other donations for Congolese refugees and for ex-convicts in transition to new lives.

Children’s sweaters, pants, jackets, hats, mittens, snowsuits and boots as well as bedding are needed by the Center for Employment and Education Development Services. The group, which helps refugees fleeing years of civil war in the Congo, has an office in the church.

Adult hats, gloves, scarves and other winter wear are needed by Crossing Home, a service that helps ex-convicts. Mark the donation for Crossing Home, which also has an office in the church.

Donations can be left at the church before or after worship at 9:30 a.m. Sundays. Arrange another drop-off time by contacting the church at 651-644-1421. The church’s donation center is to the left of the Thomas Street entry.
